Windows Movie Maker 1.2.1

Windows Movie Maker version 1.2.1 is an update for Windows Movie Maker 1.1, 1.1.1, and 1.2, which were released in Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional. Users who want to create high quality movies that use the latest Windows Media Audio and Video codecs and increase the maximum display size for recording should download this update.

Windows Movie Maker 1.2.1 supports the new Windows Media Audio and Video 8 codecs and is now able to recognize the processor speed for high-end computers so that video can be recorded to display at 640 x 480 pixels. This update improves the quality of saved DV-AVI files and increases security when sending a movie to a Web host provider. User name and password information is sent through the HTTPS protocol, which uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) standard for encryption.

After applying this update, recording time and hard disk usage may increase, but the resulting digital media files will be of higher quality.
