Mapped Drives Shutdown Update
This update
resolves a shutdown issue in Windows 98, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q260067. An affected computer can stop
responding if it has a significant number of mapped network drives on your
computer. The larger the number of drives that are mapped, the more likely the
problem may occur. Download now to prevent your computer from failing to respond during shutdown.

This update applies to:
Restart your computer to complete the installation.
- Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
- Search for 260067UN.inf.
- Once this file is displayed, right-click on the file and choose Install.
Note 260067UN.inf is a system file. If your search returns no results, the system files may be hidden. Follow these steps to temporarily unhide system files:
- Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
- Click Tools, and then click Folder Options.
- On the View tab, under Hidden files,Select Show all files.
- Follow the uninstall instructions.
Important System files should only be unhidden temporarily. After recieving your search results, you must reverse the
above procedure. To do so, follow steps 1 through 3, above. For step 3, select Do not show hidden or system files.
